Not only was our straw bale house constructed of sustainable materials that were provided to us by mother nature, but its super insulating construction keeps the structure cool the summer and warm in the winter. It is also much more resistant to fire than wood-frame buildings. There are straw bale houses built in Nebraska that are still holding strong after over 100 years! The Seabreeze Straw Bale House was built by a group of volunteers over the course of several weekends under the guidance of a great friend to the farm, Bob Bolles. Bed & Breakfast on the FarmSpend a weekend on a working farm right in the heart of San Diego in our Straw Bale House. Included in our package price is a bottle of organic wine and a lovely dinner for two of Wild Sockeye Salmon dinner with all of the accoutrements, ready for you to cook up on the grill at your leisure. You will start each morning with a basket of fresh laid eggs, organic cold cuts & cheeses, fresh baked bread and seasonal fruits from the farm that you may prepare to your liking in the fully stocked kitchen. Our Straw Bale House is very spacious with a fully stocked kitchen with a stove, small refrigrerator, coffeemaker, wood-burning fireplace, King-size bed, a private patio and fire pit, large umbrella for shade and a full-size outdoor bathtub and outdoor composting toilet! For the less adventuresome, we also have an indoor bathroom with a shower a stone's throw from the house. Check in: 11:00 a.m. Friday morning Cost$550 for the full weekend, which includes a Salmon dinner for two, a bottle of organic wine and a delicious farm fresh breakfast each day.
